GATE 2025 Application Form: The GATE 2025 registration process will close on September 26, 2024, without any late fee, as per IIT Roorkee. Candidates interested in pursuing M.Tech or PhD programs can apply by visiting the official GATE 2025 website. For those unable to register before the deadline, late applications will be accepted until October 7, 2024, with an additional fee. The application process is conducted entirely online, involving steps like registration, filling out exam and personal details, uploading necessary documents, and payment of the application fee. Following the completion of this process, a correction window for the GATE 2025 application form will be available from November 6, 2024.

The GATE 2025 exam, conducted by IIT Roorkee, is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, with two sessions per day—morning and afternoon. The detailed branch-wise exam dates will soon be published on the official GATE website. For additional details about the GATE 2025 application form and the exam itself, candidates can refer to the FAQ section available on the website.

This year, IIT Roorkee will be administering the GATE 2025 exam for admissions into M.Tech or PhD programs at leading institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, as well as for recruitment into top PSUs, including GAIL, SAIL, IOCL, and others. The application process involves registration, document submission, and payment of the application fee.

To apply, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the official information brochure. Those who successfully complete the registration will be eligible to take the GATE 2025 exam on the scheduled dates across various locations in India. IIT Roorkee has published the GATE 2025 eligibility criteria on its official website. These criteria include details on age requirements, nationality, relaxations, and educational qualifications. Below are the general eligibility requirements for candidates planning to submit the GATE 2025 application form.

Documents Required for GATE 2025 Application Form

Candidates are required to submit specific documents to complete the GATE 2025 registration process. These documents should be clear, legible, and in the specified format. Uploading unclear documents could result in delays or even rejection of the application. Please refer to the list below for the necessary documents.

  • A high-quality image of the candidate's photograph that meets the specified requirements.
  • A clear image of the candidate's signature that adheres to the specified guidelines.
  • Candidates must upload details of their Educational Degree Certificate, Provisional Certificate, or a certificate from the Head of the Department/Institute.
  • If applicable, candidates must submit a scanned copy of their Category (SC/ST) certificate in PDF format, issued by authorized officers as outlined in the official GATE 2025 notification.
  • Candidates need to provide one of the following valid Photo Identity Documents (IDs).
  • PwD candidates must upload their PwD Certificate and specify any scribe requirements.
  • Dyslexic candidates must upload their Certificate of Dyslexic Condition and indicate their scribe requirements.

Photograph Requirements:

  • A recent color photograph with a white background, where the candidate's face should occupy 60-70% of the image area.
  • Dimensions: 3.5 cm wide × 4.5 cm high, with a file size ranging from 5 KB to 1 MB.
  • Format: JPG/JPEG with a resolution between 200 x 260 pixels and 530 x 690 pixels.
  • The face must be unobstructed by objects such as hats, sunglasses, or colored glasses, except for religious reasons.

Signature Requirements:

  • The signature should be in black or dark blue ink, covering 70-80% of the image area.
  • Dimensions: 1 cm wide × 2.75 cm high to 1 cm wide × 3.75 cm high, with a file size between 3 KB and 1 MB.
  • Format: JPG/JPEG with a resolution between 250 × 80 pixels and 580 × 180 pixels.
  • The uploaded signature must match the one used during the examination; discrepancies may lead to disqualification.

Educational Document Requirements:

  • The format for the Original/Passing Degree is outlined in Appendix A of the Information Brochure.
  • The certificate must be in PDF format and should have a file size between 10KB and 300KB.
  • Acceptable forms of ID include Aadhaar-UID, Aadhaar Virtual ID, Government ID, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
  • On exam day, candidates must present their original ID proof along with the GATE 2025 Admit Card.
  • The photo ID should clearly display the candidate's name, photo, ID number, and date of birth.
  • Candidates are required to submit a recent, government-authorized PwD category certificate.
  • Benefits will be provided to individuals with benchmark disabilities, defined as having at least 40% impairment, regardless of the specific type of disability.

Photo ID Requirements:

  • Valid photo IDs include Aadhaar-UID, Aadhaar Virtual ID, Government ID, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
  • On the exam day, bring the original ID proof along with the GATE 2025 Admit Card.

SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS

  • The candidate's signature must be in black or dark blue ink and should occupy at least 70-80% of the image area.
  • The signature dimensions should be between 1 cm wide by 2.75 cm high and 1 cm wide by 3.75 cm high, with a file size of at least 3 KB and no more than 1 MB.
  • It must be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format, with a pixel resolution ranging from a minimum of 250 × 80 pixels to a maximum of 580 × 180 pixels.
  • Candidates must ensure that the uploaded signature matches the one used at the time of the examination; otherwise, they will be disqualified.

Scribe Specifications:

  • The scribe must not be a GATE 2025 candidate and should have educational qualifications lower than the minimum eligibility criteria for GATE.
  • A panel of scribes will be available at the exam center for candidates to choose from.
  • Candidates using a scribe will be granted an additional 1 hour of compensatory time if their writing abilities are limited.

GATE 2025 Application Form Fees

The GATE 2025 application form will only be accepted by the conducting authority, IIT Roorkee, if the payment has been completed. The application fee can be submitted online through net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI. The registration fee for general candidates is INR 1800 (without a late fee) and INR 2300 (with a late fee). Please note that additional online transaction charges may apply, as indicated on the payment portal. It is important to remember that the GATE 2025 registration fee is non-refundable, except in cases where a specific combination is removed by the GATE conducting body.

The application fee for GATE 2025 varies for general and reserved/female category candidates. Below are the fee details for different categories, along with the late fee charges for GATE 2025.

Candidates should be aware that the application fee mentioned does not encompass any service charges, processing fees, or additional fees that may be charged by the bank. The registration fee for two test papers will be double that of a single paper.

Payment for the GATE 2025 application form can be made through net banking, credit cards, debit cards, and UPI. The fee amount will be displayed on the payment portal, where candidates must confirm and complete the payment. Once the payment is successfully processed, candidates will be redirected to the application form portal, allowing them to download a PDF copy of their GATE exam form.

Before proceeding with the payment, candidates are advised to check their internet connectivity. In case of any issues related to a poor connection or glitches, candidates should verify the transaction status through their bank account and log in again after some time to check the payment status of their GATE application form. If the payment is confirmed, candidates will be able to download the application form. If the payment has not been received, a new payment must be initiated. Should the amount be deducted from the bank account without a payment acknowledgment, the funds will be credited back to the original account within 15 days. To avoid any last-minute issues, candidates are encouraged to make their payments well in advance.

GATE 2025 Application Form Process

GATE applicants must visit the GOAPs portal on the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in to apply. The registration link for GATE 2025 is now active. Candidates can submit their application form until September 26, 2024, without incurring a late fee, and until October 7, 2024, with a late fee. The portal provides various functionalities for students, including filling out the GATE 2025 exam application form, uploading required documents, paying the application fee, checking the application status, and downloading the admit card, rank, or score card. It is essential to adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided by the GATE conducting authorities to ensure a smooth application submission process.

Here is a step-by-step GATE 2025 application form guideline that the candidates must follow -

Step I - Registration

The first step in the application process is registration. Candidates must visit goaps.iitr.ac.in to register for GATE 2025 by providing their full name, date of birth, valid email ID, and mobile number, and then creating a password. All communication regarding the GATE exam will be sent to the provided contact details.

After completing the registration, candidates will receive a GATE enrollment ID, which will serve as a reference for all future communications about the exam. During this stage, candidates must also create a unique GATE 2025 password, consisting of 8 to 15 characters, which will be used for logging in.

Step II - Filling the GATE Application Form

Once registration is complete, candidates can fill out the application form. It is crucial to provide accurate information, as the application must be completed online by the candidate themselves. The following details are required:

  • Personal Information: This includes the candidate’s name, date of birth, mobile number, parent’s name, and parent’s mobile number. All information must match that on a valid photo ID. Candidates should avoid using any prefixes or titles such as Mr., Dr., Mrs., etc.

  • Communication Details: Complete address, including the Pincode.

  • Educational Qualifications: Information about schools attended and graduation degree, along with the college name and address.

  • GATE Exam Details: Selection of GATE test papers and preferred examination cities.

  • Photograph and Signature: A recent photo and signature as per the specified guidelines.

  • Scanned Documents: Valid ID proof, category certificate, PwD certificate, and Dyslexic certificate in PDF format.

  • Scribe Requirements: If applicable, candidates should provide details regarding any scribe requirements.

Step III - Uploading of Documents

After filling out the application form, candidates must upload scanned copies of the necessary documents, including photographs and signatures. Once all sections are completed, candidates should preview the application to check for any errors and make corrections before final submission. The following documents must be uploaded according to the specified guidelines:

  • A high-quality image of the candidate’s photograph.
  • A good-quality image of the candidate’s signature.
  • A scanned copy of a valid photo ID.
  • A PDF copy of the Category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable).
  • A PDF copy of the PwD Certificate (if applicable).
  • A PDF copy of the Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable).

Step IV - Payment of Application Fees

To complete the application, candidates must pay the application fee. They can check the category-wise GATE 2025 application fee details. After filling out the application form, candidates should click “Submit & Proceed to Payment.” This action will redirect them to a new payment gateway webpage. Payments can be made through net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI. Upon successful transaction, candidates will be redirected back to the GATE 2025 Portal.

Step V - Application Form Submission

Once the payment is successful, a unique “Fee Payment Number” will be generated, which candidates should save. Before submitting the GATE 2025 exam form, candidates must read and accept the declaration statement provided at the end of the application process. After confirming the declaration, they can submit the application form. It’s important to note that details cannot be edited after submission. After submission, candidates can download the GATE 2025 registration form in PDF format for their records.

How to Add a Secondary Paper after Submitting GATE 2025 Application Form?

If you have applied for one paper and submitted your GATE 2025 application, you can still add a second paper during the application process. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official GATE website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  2. Click on the application form link on the GOAPS portal.
  3. Log in using your credentials—enrollment ID, password, and captcha.
  4. After logging in, the application status page will appear. An option to add another paper will also be visible. Click on this option and select your GATE Paper II.
  5. Choose the paper, make the payment through any available payment method, and submit the application form. This selection will be considered your GATE Paper II or secondary paper.

GATE 2025 Application Status

The GATE 2025 application status indicates the current state of your application form, informing you whether it has been successfully submitted. Candidates can check their GATE application form status on the GOAPS portal by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  2. Click on the application link.
  3. Log in using your credentials—Enrollment ID and password.
  4. Once logged in, you will see your name, enrollment ID, and registration form status.

If there are any issues with the information provided in the GATE online form, the status will display as "Application Under Scrutiny," indicating that your application is being reviewed. If discrepancies are found, GATE authorities will notify you via the registered email and phone number provided during the application process.

GATE 2025 Application Form Correction

The GATE 2025 application form registration link is now live on the official website. The correction link will become active on November 6, 2024. Candidates whose applications are deemed defective will have the opportunity to modify their details. After the registration process, the correction window will open for all applicants on November 6, 2024.

Candidates should note that the application status will be updated after scrutiny by the respective zonal GATE offices. You can check your application status anytime by logging into your GATE 2025 account. It is essential to promptly address any defects in your application within the designated timeframe. Candidates are encouraged to regularly log into the Application Portal to check for any updates regarding defects.

How to Modify the Already Filled Details?

IIT Roorkee will provide a correction window for candidates to update any previously filled information. A correction fee will apply for each change, as outlined in the table above. Candidates can follow these steps to make corrections:

Step 1: Visit the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in or click the link provided above.

Step 2: Click on the link labeled ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS)’ on the homepage.

Step 3: Enter your credentials, including your password and GOAPS Enrollment ID, and log in.

Step 4: Make the necessary corrections to the application form as instructed.

Step 5: After making the required changes, click the submit button.

Candidates are encouraged to download and print the newly submitted application form reflecting the changes made.

How to Make Changes in the GATE 2025 Paper?

Candidates should be aware that they can change the selected papers in their GATE 2025 application form within a specific timeframe. Those intending to take two test papers must indicate both a primary and a secondary choice. To make changes to the GATE 2025 papers, candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official GOAP website.
  2. Log in using your GOAPS enrollment ID or email address and password.
  3. Once logged in, you can modify your selections for GATE 2025.
  4. After selecting your preferred subject, click the ‘Submit’ button. You will be redirected to the payment page after entering the captcha.
  5. Complete the payment for the GATE 2025 application correction and print the revised application form.
