The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is anticipated to organize the JEE Advanced 2025 examination. The official exam date will be announced on the JEE Advanced website, jeeadv.ac.in. Scheduled for May 2025, the application form for JEE Advanced 2025 will be released in April 2025. It is expected that the website will be updated by November 2024, providing the complete schedule, eligibility criteria, syllabus, and more.
Indian candidates who meet the JEE Main 2025 cutoff will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2025. In contrast, foreign candidates are exempt from the JEE Main requirement and can directly apply for the exam. However, all candidates must have completed their Class 12 board exams in 2024 or 2025 to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025. The exam will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format at various centers both in India and internationally. JEE Advanced serves as the second qualifying examination for admission into IITs, following the JEE Main. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2025 will be allowed to take part in JEE Advanced 2025.
The JEE Advanced exam consists of two papers, each divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. To prepare effectively, candidates should refer to the JEE Advanced syllabus for 2025 and review previous years' question papers.
To gain admission to the IITs, candidates must complete both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the exam. Note that the marking scheme, total marks, and question distribution may vary each year. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is administered by one of the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)—IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati—on a rotational basis. The IITs are organized in a systematic order for conducting the exam, typically rotating from the top of the list to the bottom and then starting over. The process is overseen by the Joint Admission Board (JAB). This rotation system helps ensure a fair distribution of responsibilities among the seven zonal IITs.
