Many students aspire of being doctors since they are children and choose the medical (PCB) path after class ten. When they consider acquiring the "doctor" title, the first thing that springs to mind is MBBS.
Because students have a poor understanding of their possibilities, they assume that MBBS is the sole course for them, confining their options.
However, there are other courses available in medicine outside MBBS (as well as allied medicine)! BDS, BAMS, and BHMS are among the most prominent.
So, if you're still stuck on only one course and have no idea which one is the best for you. We will assist you in making the best decision possible by highlighting the significant differences between these courses. To know more, book a Career Counselling session today at Brainwonders.

Students must complete their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and obtain a minimum of 50% marks to be admitted to these medical programmes in India (40 per cent in the case of reserved category).
Let's take a closer look at the precise entrance requirements for each.
For MBBS students:
To gain admission to an MBBS programme, you must take the National Eligibility Examination, or NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). This test covers the majority of medical institutes in India. There are, however, a few other entry tests, such as AIIMS and JIPMER.
Regarding BDS:
Students must also take the NEET for BDS programmes. Seats are assigned in the counselling procedure after passing the entrance exam, based on rank, filled choices, and availability of seats.
Regarding BAMS:
From 2018, all BAMS applicants must pass the NEET examination.
For the BHMS:
To get admitted to BHMS, you must first pass the NEET exam. The final merit will be determined by adding the total number of points received in the qualifying examination in 12th grade and the number of points obtained in the admission examinations, followed by a personal interview.
MBBS- MBBS is a 5.5-year degree (4.5 years of academic education plus a 1-year required internship). Following the end of the course, students are expected to participate in hands-on training in hospital wards and outpatient departments. This gives them real-world experience practising and performing clinical procedures that will be useful in their future practice as doctors.
BDS- The BDS is a 5-year degree programme that consists of four years of academic instruction and one year of required internship. This course is available in both full-time and part-time formats.
BAMS- The BAMS is earned after completing a 5-year, 6-month degree programme. This period includes a four and a twelve-year academic session as well as a one-year internship programme with live practicals.
BHMS: The BHMS is given after completing a 5.5-year academic programme that includes a four-and-a-half-year academic session and a one-year internship programme with live practicals. This curriculum is also available via distance education.
