What is UPSEE?

UPSEE stands for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam. This exam is designed for students seeking admission into various colleges affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Successful candidates can gain entry to courses such as B.Arch, B.Pharm, Hotel Management, MCA, MBA, MAM, and Fashion and Apparel Design. The exam is offered in both online and offline formats. Additionally, students can apply for lateral entry into MCA and Fashion and Apparel Design programs. There are approximately 841 colleges in Uttar Pradesh affiliated with AKTU and other universities.

What Makes You Eligible For UPSEE 2024?

To be eligible for UPSEE 2024, candidates must meet specific criteria established by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University for admission into various programs. Check the eligibility criteria below.

Eligibility Criteria for Admissions in B.Tech, B.Arch, BFAD, BFA or BHMCT:

• Candidates should have completed the intermediate examination from the Uttar Pradesh Board or an equivalent course from any recognized board.
• The 12th examination must be passed without grace marks in all compulsory subjects and one optional subject.
• Candidates need to secure at least 45% marks for General category and 40% for Reserved category in the aggregate of the required subjects (PCM/B).
• For admission to the 1st year of B.Arch, candidates must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by the Central or State Government, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate without grace. They must also pass Paper 4 of the B.Arch entrance exam.
• Admission to B.Tech will be based on JEE Main scores.

Eligibility Criteria for Admissions in MBA, MCA, Integrated MBA Courses Through UPSEE 2024:

• Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks for General category and 45% for Reserved category.
• For MCA admission, candidates should have passed class 12th or graduation with Mathematics.
• For 5-year MBA or Integrated MBA programs, candidates should have passed Class 12th from the Uttar Pradesh Board or an equivalent exam from any recognized board.

Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry Through UPSEE 2024:

• Lateral entry (Direct Admission) to the 2nd year of B.Arch is not allowed.
• Lateral entry in B.Tech programs is available for Engineering Diploma holders or B.Sc Graduates with Mathematics in XII standard in institutions affiliated with AKTU, Lucknow.

Eligibility Criteria for Direct Admission (Lateral Entry) to the Second Year in Any Branch of Engineering/Technology:

• Candidates should have completed a 3-year Engineering Diploma from any institution in UP with at least 45% marks for General category or 40% for Reserved category.
• Alternatively, candidates whose parents (either father or mother or both) are domiciled in Uttar Pradesh and have completed a 3-year Engineering Diploma with the same percentage criteria from an institution recognized by the UP Board of Technical Education are eligible.
• Candidates with a 3-year B.Sc Degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks (General category) or 40% (Reserved category) and have passed 12th with Mathematics are eligible.

Eligibility for Lateral Entry in Agriculture Through UPSEE 2024:

• To be eligible for lateral entry in Agriculture, candidates should have completed a 3-year Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from a UP institution with at least 45% marks (General category) or 40% (Reserved category).
• Alternatively, candidates whose parents are residents of Uttar Pradesh and have completed the diploma with the specified marks from a recognized institution are also eligible.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to the 2nd Year of B.Pharm Through UPSEE 2024:

• Candidates should have passed B.Sc or 2/3 years of Diploma in Pharmacy with Mathematics as a subject in class 12th.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to the 2nd Year of MCA Through UPSEE 2024:

• Candidates should have completed a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA), B.Sc IT, or B.Sc Computer Applications with at least 50% marks for General category and 45% for Reserved category.

Note: Lateral entry or direct admissions are not permitted for B.Arch, BFAD, BFA, BHMCT, and MBA programs.

UPSEE Reservation Criteria

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, has defined reservation criteria for UPSEE 2022 admissions across various courses. The reservation is divided into two categories: Vertical and Horizontal.

Points to Note:

• Candidates can claim only one type of reservation from UPFF/UPAF/UPHC. Female candidates may claim UPFF/UPAF/UPHC in addition to UPGL.
• Candidates must specify their category choice during the application process.
• Requests for changes in category or sub-category will not be accepted.
• Availability of seats under the Fee Waiver scheme will be communicated during the counselling process.
• Female candidates automatically receive all benefits of the UPGL sub-category.
• Candidates from rural UP institutions will receive a 3% weightage on their total marks in UPSEE 2024.

UPSEE 2022 Application Form

To participate in counselling, candidates must complete the UPSEE 2024 application form by registering on the official UPSEE website. No other application modes are accepted. Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2024 are eligible for admission to participating institutions and universities of UPSEE 2024. Follow these steps to complete the application:

1. Registration: Visit the official website and register by providing basic details.
2. Form Fill-up: Enter personal information and JEE Main details.
3. Document Upload: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature after filling out the form.
4. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee to complete the process.

UPSEE 2022 Merit List

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow will release the merit list for UPSEE 2024 after the counselling registration. The list will be based on JEE Main scores. Candidates included in the merit list will be eligible for counselling. In case of a tie in JEE Main scores:

• The candidate with fewer incorrect responses will receive a higher rank.
• If the tie persists, the candidate with higher total marks in PCM will be prioritized.
• If there is still a tie, the older candidate will be given preference.

UPSEE 2024 Counselling

Candidates listed in the merit list are eligible for UPSEE 2022 counselling, which will be conducted online by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. Seats in various courses and colleges will be allocated based on merit. Selected candidates must submit documents and pay the fee to confirm their admission.
